First call your auto insurance provider as they will usually offer a package discount.

Are you a AAA or CostCo member?

Call around and ask. Call your auto-insurer, you might get a multi-policy discount.

A lot of it depends on what you're covering and how much of it. Mine is adjusted so I have no jewelry coverage (since I have nothing worth more than my deductible), but more firearms/electronics coverage.

Next year I will be a student and living in an apartment instead of the dorms. My parents insurance covers the dorms. I'm assuming I would need seperate renters insurance for next year though. Anyone know?

Call around, but whatever you do make sure you get something!! renters insurance is dirt cheap.
