So that is why you don't own one...because you're not manly?
Got it.
Bingo.

His lack of objectivity with vehicle assessments always makes for a good laugh. Alas, it was not meant to be. The original post has been edited. The one thing you need to know is that he's right, you're wrong. You can't debate facts.
I don't think either of us are bent. I also criticize women spending $350 on a purse but I never said it shouldn't be an option for them. And you two bent because people get to have their choices.
The ironing.
I like this post, though.lotta pokin goin around but its no joke, trucks are tops. 210k miles on my black 99 ranger xlt, its rusting out and looking very qualified. fucker runs like its ready for a race every day. ford trucks forever.
Trucks and Jules is like vinegar and oil... But atleast he does realize the uses of a truck... But to get him under that 4ft rule here is what he needs...

There is no point. As there's no point in having an SVT pickup truck. What's the point of having shitty vehicles like this? Yesterday I high centered my corolla when getting out of a parkade and it's a regular 6" to 8" high car. It would also be impossible to go up a driveway, over speed bumps, or into a parking lot.

It was just some minor complaints about one particular truck I rented. I already stated I may have been a bit harsh on it which is why I edited my post.
Give it a rest.

I'm ok with that one, it's kinda pimp. How about this Grand Cherokee?

In general...
Q: Is vehicle roof above four feet high?
If yes, then JM hates it already.
:awe:
Guess you did`nt read as to why it would work for Jules...?
I would rather drive a "shitty" truck like that then have to drive a Corolla...:hmm:Also from a custom standpoint very seldom are they practical but neither is a Formula 1 car for going to the grocery store... The look good but only appeal to a certain crowd and have a limited purpose...
Here is my shitty truck (gets 18-20mpg + will tow 15,000lbs+) and Jules might be able to climb up in it but most likely break his neck when getting out...But I would have let him borrow it if he lived a bit closer...
<snip-the pics>
What really amuses me is you bragging about getting 18-20mpg. Around here you'd get 15-16mpg because of all the stop and go driving. Just curious, how often do you tow anywhere near 15,000lbs?
So, tell us about your blue collar job and/or your farm.
Field Service Tech for Waukesha-Pearce Ind. dealer for Komatsu USA
Now Jules does this not tell you anything but it sure pays good :biggrinalso have a ranch about 50 miles north of where we live)...? Also I live in Texas and everything is like 100miles away with very little stop and go driving... Also I tow our Springdale 307FKGL 33' dual slide 10,000lb travel trailer quite often and still get 12mpg... Do you see any huge tires or a lifted suspension on this truck...? BTW I also own and use an 18' steel floor dove tail car hauler and a 20' custom lowboy trailer (used both last weekend)... Besides that I shuttle goose neck trailers on the side (have a goose neck hitch in the bed) for extra $$$... How else are you going to haul 200lbs of live crawfish...? In the back of your car...? NOT...!
I do have a service truck for the job so my truck sits most of the week but on the weekends it gets a work out...
 We're cool.
What amazes me is people continue to buy these vehicles when they really have no need for them.
There is no point. As there's no point in having an SVT pickup truck.
A big truck AND a great paying job, epeen FTW!Please don't worry about how I afford the gas either. It's called having a good paying job. You should try it.
I hate people who drive hybrids because it means they probably have a hell of a lot more money than me. Up here the Prius is close to $30,000. People don't buy them to save money as much as they buy them to show how much they care about the environment.... until you see they live in a giant house that consumes 3x as much energy as your own house.I guess this Prius owner just needs to make more money, that's why they drive it, they're poor.

They make special cheap interiors, use different engines, or tire pressure sensors for the Lowes/Home Depot fleet vehicles?
I used to work in the car rental industry. I can assure you that it is an excellent way to judge the quality of a vehicle. Of course, that was back in the late 80s to early 90s when American cars were by and large complete garbage. Let me put it to you this way, we would get in a fleet of new vehicles, GM, Toyota, Ford, Buick, Dodge/Chrysler, send them all out into the world and then 2 years and 30-40,000 miles later the ones that held up the best were the Toyotas. Ford wasn't bad, Dodge/Chrysler interiors held up well but everything else was failing. GM and Buick were falling apart and constantly in and out of the dealership. I had a brand new Pontiac with less than 100 miles on it just quit running on the freeway at 10PM on a Saturday night. I could bore you for hours with tales from my car rental days.
BTW-I rented a Ford Escape a few years ago and put 300 miles on it in a weekend and I have to say I was impressed by it. Nothing to complain about anyway...well, other than the gas mileage.
How do you judge a vehicle? By a 15 minute test drive at the dealership? Consumer reports?![]()
Less so now than in the past. Until recently a Prius could be had for $21,500-22,500. I am leasing one and the lease payments are not much more than the amount of money I save on gas vs my old vehicle (and remember they have repairs and depreciation built right into them). It made sense economically, so that's why I do it, not because I think I'm saving a single tree. Hybrids are mainstream more every year, it's not just tree hugging seal lovers who are getting these to make a statement. Cars in Canada are a scam compared to down here. Until the Tsunami a Prius could be leased at ~$170/month paying only tax, title, doc fees at signing with no turn-in fee at end of lease. Run the numbers at $4/gallonUp here the Prius is close to $30,000. People don't buy them to save money as much as they buy them to show how much they care about the environment....
