its doing so well in rentals because people with mod chips are renting games and ripping them straight to their upgraded xbox hard drives. i did the same thing. i bet you $10 thats why xbox is doing so well in RENTALS, PS2 is still kicking their ass in retail sales, because the PS2 has no hard drive. its way cheaper to rent games and rip them, rather then buy a dvd burner and blank dvd media. makes so much sense.
