Rental car insurance...

I'm going to Dallas later this month, and need to rent a wheelchair lift equipped van. The company I'm renting from understandably requires the driver to carry full coverage insurance. Very few drivers I know here in NJ carry full coverage, including me, so I need to find somebody who will sell us ins for the three days.

Any ideas?

If you find someone to sell you insurance for three days other than the rental company, it will be some ghetto BS company.

why don't you just up your coverage for a little while and then when you get home, call and go back to non-full coverage? we have people do that all the time

Can't you buy their optional insurance for like $12 a day or something?

It's a small company, not a chain. They don't offer it.

I'll check it out, but I'd rather not do it that way.

Your insruance co. can usually back date any endorsement they do, meaning you could have them go back to the day you up-ed the coverage and cancel it effective that day as well so basically you're not really paying anything more.

Well, the rental company gave me the number of traveguard, so I purchased ins. through them. Thanks though.
