Renovation project of a lifetime: full interior/exterior

We just bought a new house that we'll be fully renovating both inside and out during the next year or so. What i'm looking for is are suggestions and ideas - now on the how, but on the what. Perhaps even little things you wish you had in your house but don't. For example: adjustable lighting temperature in every room, central LAN, etc.

I just had my house rewired, do the following , Run the following to every room:

3 Cat5e cables two RG6 Cables and 1 Pair of speaker wires

1 of the cat5e can be used for your telephon line in the house, up to 4 telephone lines can be wired.
2 of them for a ocmputer network, having two drops in a room usually eliminbates the need for a hub in most rooms. We have it and it comes in really handy
2 RG6 for your TV, 1 would be for DISH/Cable, and one can be for Antenna or such applications as a security camera or baby monitor.
Speaker wire can be used for intercom or msuic whichever you like.

Have all the cables run to one closet in the house or garage that is well ventilated and hass access to the outside of your house easily (Via crawlspace or conduit)

Once you have this all your wiring will be configurable from one location for the entire house.
