Removing Thermal Tape

I've noticed on the bottom of my FOP38 that there's pink thermal tape underneath it. I'm trying to remove it with alcohal but it doesn't work very well... What do you use to get this sticky crap off?
 
i scraped mine of with a knife. I HAVE READ that AMD recommends the thermal pads over paste, but it could have been BS.
