Hi,

I used to remove the thermal pad on my FOP32-1/FOP38 before using a knife, acetone and some cotton buds (q-tips?). The issue I have with the Taisol heatsink is that it has a copper base, which is more easily gouged than aluminum, so I am a little cautious of using my "old" method using the knife, acetone, etc. Can you give me a sure-fire but safe (avoids gouging the copper base) way to remove the thermal pad on my Taisol cooler? This is so, I would also be able to use AS2 on it.

Tnx

If I wanted to be careful I would use something like
a plastic putty knife, to push off the bulk of the
thermal pad and then let the heatsink soak in a small
tray of the acetone for a while. You should be able
to wipe the rest off with a cloth of some sort.

Hope this helps......
