Removing the BIOS chip

How do I remove the BIOS chip on an ABIT motherboard?

Thanks for any assistance..

Get a chip puller and lift very carefully. It plugs in and the side pins are fairly fragile and easy to bend. It can only go one way . . . power it up backwards and it is toast.

If it's regular 32 pin chip, the rectangle one, it's pretty easy. Just take it out with the extractor, or use flat head driver from both side little by little.
If it's a PLCC chip, you've got have a PLCC extractor. You can get it from Radioshack. Be careful to remember the chip's position. There should be a cut in a corner.
Either one is not too hard if you have the extractor.
