I recently put my system together using the stock Intel heatsink and thermal tape for my 2.8 P4. Is it worth it to take it apart and replace the thermal compound with Artic Silver. I'm not gonna overcloack and mu CPU temp seems to hang just under 50C. If the Artic isnt gonna make that big of a diff, I am of the mind to just let it be.

Thanks

Get a plastic scraper or something soft that wont scratch the metal and scrape as much of the thermal pad as you can then get a bottle of goo gone or maybe some high percentage rubbing alcohol and just rub off the rest that you couldn't scrape off. You should feel the bottom of your heatsink and see if there are ridges or bumps, if so you might want to consider lapping it.
