removing second OS on partition

I have a couple problems driven by a Trojan attack on my PC. The first is that I seem to have two instances (or at least pointers to Windows 7 OSs on my C drive. When I boot up, it asks me which OS I want to boot with and there are two Windows 7 listings. The second one works, the first one does not. how to I identify and delete the first instance?

Second. There was a batch file that was running on startup. I cleared the Trojan, but the Admin user on my PC logs into a console screen looking for what I assume is the deleted virus. If I close the console screen, I have a black screen and a cursor. I can access applications through the task manager, but can't get a regular start with that user. the two other users on the PC are OK.

What can I use to clear that user's startup? I used CClean to turn off pretty much all startup applications. I don't think I have a version to roll back to that will work.

type msconfig under boot what do you have.

Yep, easiest way to do this.

For you second problem, I have found that if it isn't being created by something obvious (the startup groups in the registry, for example) it is usually easiest to create a new user account and delete the one with this issues. There may be other issues with that user account (harmful browser add-ons) that are still lurking, and less obvious.
