Removing replacing DVD-rom drive in HP ZE series laptops - what to do?

I currently have both a HP ZE1210 (DVD+CDRW drive) and a HP ZE4101 (DVD drive). I am planning on giving the ZE1210 to my parents, who will only be using it around their house...I'll keep the 4101, which is a newer chipset and has somewhat better video. The thing is, since these laptops don't have a built-in floppy, it's pretty important to have a CDRW, since there are times I need to get something off the laptop in a hurry and I am not ethernetted.

OK, so my idea is to swap the optical drive between the two laptops. Anyone know A) How hard it is to remove/replace the optical drive in these laptops; and B) if the two laptops in fact use the same drives (same bezel, same connector)?

If this isn't going to fast and simple, I'll probably just give my folks the 4101...

Thanks,
