Removing Programs

I tried to remove some games from a friends computer and ran into a problem. He tried to delete the games from his c: drive instead of using the add/delete programs option in the control panel. When I tried to uninstall these programs it gave me an error saying it could not find the file c:Deerhunter (something like that) and it would not uninstall it.

How do I uninstall these programs? (Windows xp)

That would probably work but I don't have these programs. There are about 4 programs that I need to uninstall but I don't have the cd's.

Any way to do it without the cd's?

You could try a third party uninstaller that looks for bits and pieces left behind..but follow thier suggestions with care as sometimes they make dumb recommendations as what to delete.

If the apps aren't causing any problems just leave them there till the next time he formats and show him how to use the add/remove applet for the future.

best way though would be to locate friends with same programs and borrow them for an hour and do as HN suggested.

If it's WinXP use System Restore to go back before he deleted the folders and then uninstall them properly.
