Removing options in programs

Is there a way to remove access to the preferences in Trillian? If I could remove the visibility of the preferences option that would be best, but basically I need a way to lock the options so nothing can be changed. I'm installing Trillian on some machines, I don't want students to be able to change log-ins for the connections, or change the logging path.
