I installed Nero Image Drive out of curiosity but as I don't need it I want to remove it, but it doesn't have an uninstall. How do I get rid of it then? As it makes a virtual drive I'm no sure that just deleting the program files wille be a good idea. Removing Nero Burning ROm (which the prog came with) doesn't help, Image Drive stays on the computer when Burning Rom is uninstalled.

start nero.. on the menu bar, you goto 'recorder' then 'choose recorder'.. a window should pop up(it lets you choose the cd recorder).. you should see your cdrw and the image recorder(virtual device) listed in the 'choose recorder' window.. select your cdrw and click ok..

That's not the problem, it burns on my cdrw drive allright, I just want to get rid of the extra (virtual) cd-rom drive icon which I don't use

I'm not stupid, if I could have done that I would have done so. The problem is that I cannot uninstall it the regular ways. There, this should be clear enough now.

Wind your neck in m8. I never said you were stupid.

As you can't uninstall the Image Drive by the "Normal" methods, then one would assume you might have done something stupid to disable that function. If I recall correctly when Image Drive was installed on my system, I uninstalled it via the Add/Remove programs.

:frown:

[edit]

Had a thought. Install it again, then uninstall it by the normal methods that you are aware of.

Sorry, that was just so obvious that I would feel kinda stupid if I hadn't thought of it myself ;) I didn't say you said I was stupid it was more like reassuring myself that I wasn't :D

And I just installed it the "normal" way, when Burning Rom was installed there was a shortcut in the program-group called "Install Nero Image Drive", out of curiosity I installed it but now I cannot remove it any way. If I run the install prog again it just installs it again, I get no options to remove it. Weird, something must be very wrong.

Ah well, Windows needs a reinstall anyway :D

If you are using WinXP, go to control panel, administrative tools, Computer Management. Select Disk Management. Right click on the cdrom you want to get rid of. Choose properties. Choose disable device. It will disappear. This works for me anyway as I just did it. :)
