Hi!

I'm looking some info on how to remove the standard blue memory heatsinks and the chipset sink/fan combo from Hercules Prophte II GTS 64MB. What's involved? Are they attached with tape or compound. I can't figure it out and I'd be afraid just to pull them with force.

I want to squeeze some extra speed but the stock cooling is crappy and I max out at 210/380, so I'd like to replace it with some better stuff. I want to skip the current generation of GF3 and upgrade when the next one comes out. Meantime, my GF2 could use some overclocking :)

I heard people pushing it to 240/400 and more easily with replacement cooling hardware.

FYI, I also have two side mounted intake 80mm fans in a case cutouts that I'll be replacing with 120mm doubling the air flow into the AGP/CPU area plus replacing the exhaust fans too and adding one 120mm on the toop of the case.

Thanks!

Zak

2 things to remove the ram sinks and HS/fan put it in the freezer for about 5-10min (will make the thermal compound brittle)...

You are not gaining anything by OC`ing the GPU also the memory does not get that hot and most likely will not OC any higher even with new sinks... :( sorry...

Thanks. Yeah, I was reading a lot today about this, even installed more powerfull intake/exhhaust fans in my case and pushed my card to 220/380, but I'm beginning to believe that this is not worth the trouble.
