Removing Information from registered domain

How do some people remove some or all of their information from registered domains? I've seen this and wonder how it can be done.

It's hidden on the main page

Even if NameCheap didn't offer Free WhoisGuard Protection it's still the best domain registrar IMHO.

I do not understand. Private registration means nothing to me without further explanation and how this is done. Can domains already registered not be modified to remove information?

it depends on whether or not your current registrar (where your domain is registered currently) offer this kind of feature. where is this domain registered?

They are? I did not know that. I just took their offer six months ago for a free web hosting account. Only recently did I buy a domain. Can I move the domain and then alter the domain information?

I have to admit that I am extremely bias against 1and1 domain/web hosting.

However others have also had problems with 1and1.

Assuming you are the domain owner and it isn't LOCKED, then you can transfer it a better domain registrar such as NameCheap.com which offers private registration for FREE.

I own the domain and I was the one that locked it. I can unlock it. Just wasn't prepared to go domaining hopping.
