removing icon from win8

If you right click on the tile you can choose "open file location" and that will lead you to a short cut link. If you delete that link the tile should disappear from the start screen and the all apps screen.

I've noticed that 8 and 8.1 are slow to update deleted links from the start menu folder even on restarts but I'm not sure why. Give it a couple hours and they should be gone.
