Removing HSF from CPU with thermal pad

Hey, guys,

It's very likely that the main rig in my signature will undergo some major changes in configuration. I don't usually use thermal pads, since thermal grease usually offered better heat conduction; but this last time, about 6-7 months ago, the Thermaltake Venuses came with thermal pads attached; I was lazy, and thought that anything that came from Thermaltake cannot perform that much worse than AS5. It for the most part worked alright, and kept the temperature down.

But now, it comes time to remove these babies, I'm a little concerned. Is it for the most part as removing HSF with grease? I mean, I know the usual procedures: trying to rock back and forth a little, use a little lever action to "peel" it off the IHS, gentle twisting and rotating and such. Is there anything else that's different with removing Thermal pads that I should do? I will need to run it full tilt for a while to heat the thermal pad up, right? And is Isopropyl alcohol the best at removing old burnt in thermal pads?

I really need some experience and assurance from you guys.
