Removing Ghost Devices in WinXP

I just did a Motherboard swap and it was almost the same Chipset. I would like to remove any Ghost or Unused devices and it's my understanding that if they have a grey icon next to
them and they show up as Root\Legacy in Regedit that I can safely remove them. Is that
correct?
