hi:
To all of you who have upgraded your mobo's and put your existing hard drive and data into the new one, we know how much work it would be to re-install everything. Removing the ENUM from the hkey_local_machine forces a new hardware detection but it doesn't seem to get the audio controller on mobo's with built-in sound. I used to use a different method and that didn't work (on epox 8kta3). I read in one of the threads about removing the ENUM so I just tried it on the ECS K7s5a. Still no good. Everything works but if you go into control panel/multimedia everything is grayed out. I tried re-installing win98se after removing ENUM but still no luck. I know from past experience you have to do a fresh install of windows to get the audio controller installed. Was anyone successful getting the sound to work using the removing ENUM procedure? :Q
