removing da duron

Hrm...I have a duron 700 with a CoolerMaster HSF, and Im having problems getting it off. Its really hard to reach the level thing, and when I do, it only comes out about a centimeter before the heat sink gets in the way. Do I have to remove the heatsink or something? And if so, how? And how hard is it? How risky is it? How stupid can I possibly be?

you have to remove the heatink first 😉 then pull the lever up until it is at a 90-degree angle in respect to the motherboard, and pull out the CPU 😉

you have to push down on the clip thats down on the socket and push it away from the socket to get it off the little tab. Be careful you dont rock the heatsink on the chip they tend to chip/crack
