Hi ,

Does removing the battery when plugged into the AC increase battery life ?

That theory can be supported. Every charge and discharge is counted towards battery life. If it is not used that way with constant charges and discharges, it will stay newer longer.

But - you should not remove it when plugged in to A/C. Remove the battery, then connect the A/C adapter and power on.

Sometimes it is possible to create an arc when removing a bettery from an active charging circuit. Not probable, but possible. Play it safe.

Ummm....you are right...that is extremely unprobable.....

Trust me, computer manufactures have put thought through this (well, actually, the people who make the charging chip ICs did). I assure you, creating an arc from pulling a battery out of a laptop would be a pretty big challenge.
