Removing battery when on AC power

Just wondering if it is better for the battery to remove it when on AC power. I take my Thinkpad to classes with the 9 cell, so it's on battery power for a few hours a day. When I'm in my dorm, it's running off the AC adaptor, so should I take out the battery every time?

Good question. Li-ION batteries require different care than NiCads or NiMHs. Technical consensus seems to be remove when on A/C only.

No need to remove battery these days. Older tech batteries/charging circuits had issues with overcharging or memory, but new stuff should be fine in both regards.
