Removing Background Apps

I have WIN98 and want to remove items from start-up. Things I don't need. I want to remove them from start-up, not the start menu.

Thank you for your support!

Whel, some startup items are in the start menu under start>programs>startup. You can remove items from there by going to something like start>settings>start menu (or task bar, i forget which). Otherwise, run msconfig and go to the startup tab.

yeah, go to start, run type in msconfig, there you will see all the progs your comp starts on boot up, ladi's advice is also good, but you only see a couple of progs, msconfig shows you all of them.

Yea I'm familiar with the start up folder. Mine only has 4 items in it including "Microsoft Look"! Who needs that so bad that it has to be in the start-up!?

Anyway, thanks, I'll be a doin the msconfigy. I'm guessing once I get there it'll be a no brainer how to remove and add?

Again, "Thank you for your support"!
