If anyone has a website or can list the steps involved in properly replacing a stock HSF on a P4 (or any CPU for that matter), please post them here. Thanks.

Go to Arctic Silver's website. IIRC, they have illustrated guides.

Plus, HERE'S some info from mechBgon's site that might be helpful.

warm up the computer a lot, with some prime95 or something, then shut down, and when you remove the hsf, the most important thing, is to twist it, dont pull up at all! there have been countless threads of people ripping the cpu out of the socket and breaking pins.

Thanks guys. I'm removing a stock HSF and replacing it with a Zalman 7000B-AlCu HSF on my P4 3.06ghz Northwood core 533mhz FSB skt 478 CPU.
