removing an OS from dual boot

I posted a comment earlier about this problem here. Basically I think I've screwed up my boot sector. I think my ultimate question is, once I've created the dual booting, is there a way to eliminate the seconary OS and fix the boot record so it doesn't look for it? Thanks!

Hit the Start button > Run and type this in: c:\boot.ini

Copy the contents of that file and paste it in the forums
