update: monitor is working fine now

can some one who knows a lot about this stuff venture a guess as to what happened?

after concluding that the monitor was "dead" i unplugged it and let it sit on my floor. now, a few days later, i decided to double check it was dead. it works fine on two different computers. wtf?

of course, i havent tested for very long, so maybe the problem will return. but still. wtf?

when i had determined it was "dead" i tried it on two different computers with same results: its dead. now i tried it on same two computers with same results: its working. wtf?

I'm guessing that the card rebooted the machine when it "fell out" of the agp slot. Always always always lock your cards down somehow, Your lucky that the card didn't take anything out with it.

hi thanks for trying to give an opinion but 😛

if u had read the thread: the video card, monitor, and computer, all seem to be fine. nothing is broken as of now.

and: the computer didnt reboot, because the picture on the screen was of the same game (C&C generals) that had been on when i had left it (albeit a rolling pic)

and finally: its possible the card never did come all the way out (it may have only been loose), and the monitor's hiccup was an unrelated event (although that is more scary cuz it indicates dying monitor to me)
