reboot?

😀

You should have shut down before putting anything back in. Hopefully it just crashed and a restart would fix it, otherwise, try another video card to see if it's your video card that is busted.

My friend ripped his ti4600 out of the agp slot while it was on and sparks came out from the slot, but it still works to this day.

Guys he said that the problem remains. This means most probably that he has rebooted the system.
(Can't think of someone that wouldn't try that before posting). Let us know that Dan
Anyway it's possible that the card wasn't properly seated/inserted in the slot.
Maybe try the card to a friend's rig to check if it's wasted??
Good luck and BE MORE CAREFUL man!

Just reading the thread title sent chills down my spine, man!
Screw cards in, ALWAYS.
Latch the retention bracket, ALWAYS.

geez this scared me so much i opened my case just to make sure everything was nicely latched....

i wonder if we'll ever find out why/how it fell/slid/was ripped out...
this is a dark time in computing history

hahaha you serious dude? sometimes i wonder about stuff like that... like what if i put my car on reverse while driving 60 on the freeway..... hm........

hmm. well it seems that the monitor is to blame for the strange picture. the video card and computer are working fine. but the monitor produces the rolling screen (i cant think of the right word to describe it... imagine a slot machine ... thats the picture the monitor makes) on every computer ive tried.

now the card did come loose, but the question is whether a card coming loose in its slot could damage a monitor like this, or whether it is just a suspicious coincidence

Maybe when the card came out it sent a very very high refresh rate signal to the monitor thus frying parts of the CRT screen ?

Strange..I don't know how the card coming loose could damage the monitor. Well, at least it didn't kill your card or mobo.
