Remove "sync" software installed by BestBuy

I need to remove "sync" software (its why my BIL called it) that was installed on his laptop by the BestBuy geek squad at the behest of his wife. Does anybody have any idea what they might have installed? I assume it has a keylogger and uploads activity to another machine. The one thing it doesnt sound like I can do is wipe it.
