Remove permanent ink on clothes?

As a bargain hunter, I like to shop at outlet stores. Some outlet stores use permanent marker to cross the the tag or mark the logo with black ink. Is there any way to remove the ink without damage the original color?

I thought that was the whole point of permanent 😛

If it is permanent ink it will dye the fabric and you will not be able to remove it. Why not cut the tag? Is the name thet important to you?

Sad. Do you go around showing everyone the tag neglecting to tell them you got it at Goodwill.
