How can a icon be removed from Windows XP control panel? Were are the entries in the registry for this? Thanks.

Thanks for the reply. I did some digging and found some info. The problem I was having was that the Envy Audio Deck icon for my sound card would give an error when clicked from the control panel (Error: RegQueryValue Ex). I can get to the Envy Audio Deck by using the start\ programs and clicking it, so I do not need the one in the control panel. I have since found that by adding this line to the registry, I can remove the icon from the control panel ([HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\don't load]
"enhfcpl.cpl"="No"

This keeps the icon from showing in the control panel. My next question, is there any way to edit the enhfcpl.cpl file to direct it to the proper file (Eumixcpl.exe) so the contol panel icon would work properly?

I think that you could have just renamed enhfcpl.cpl to, say, enhfcpl.cp_ or something.

As far as fixing your next problem, is it worth completely uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers?
