Anyone tried taking off the heatpipe and replacing with water blocks? Basically I want to know if it's at least feasible and if I'd be damaging anything. I plan on water cooling a Lian-Li V1000. I keep reading that the heatpipe loses a lot of performance when installed upside down. Thanks.

I saw water block for the unit.. and someone did email asus about it... asus say don't..

i have mine on a v2000 and I just stuck a 10 dollar fan on top of the heatsink that says fanless design...

i dont care about noise as I got 12 drives in that v2000

Agreed, I would leave it alone. Adding a "water block" will block the PCI-e slot right next to it rendering it useless. Your PC funtions fine the way it is and there is no need to water cool a chip that is in a funtional state.
