remove Disk Manager from Samsung HDD

I have a Samsung 40GB HDD, in which i tried to load Windows XP with SP2, as i recently upgraded my machine.

But since I have Disk manager installed in it, Windows refuses to boot.
In the Disk manager utility from Samsung there's no option to uninstall.
Also I don't have a floppy drive installed on my machine.

Thanks.😀

Your problem could be that your version of Disk Manager is incompatible with SP2. If you don't have a specific need for SP2, don't go there. Rather than telling you all the horror stories I've heard, just Google for SP2 & "do not" or SP2 & "don't" or SP2 & help or or any of a number of words that would be blocked by the forum filter.

You may be able to remove Disk Manager from your drive by getting the latest version of Samsung's disk tool software. You didn't post the model number so you'll have to enter it in the search window, here. It may have to run from a cold boot, but if you have a CD burner, you may be able to burn it to that and set your system to boot from the CD.

Of course, you also just came up with a good reminder why it's worth the extra few bucks for a floppy drive, just for cases like this. 🙂

Pretty tough advice to give someone when MS recently discontinued patch support for SP1, and there are already several new vulnerabilities reported...

MS would discontinue support for anything up to and including critical life support systems if they thought they could charge for a replacement... along with the multiple updates they would subsequently have to issue to make it work, at all. 😛

If you want some idea of why I'm so cynical about MS, just google SP2 + don't or SP2 + "do not" or SP2 + help or SP2 + a lot of words that would blocked by the forum filter. You'll find ten or more pages for each of them.
