Remove Device

Hi,
Can you explain for "Remove Device" in USB devices?
When we click on "Remove Device", just process is switched off? or cutting voltage ?
I don't think cutting voltage,because light indicator still ON.

It makes sure that all communications are finished and none will start so as to avoid data corruption.
