Remove Athlon heatsink?

How do I remove the heatsink on my Athlon classic 650 (slot A)? It was retail boxed, and near as I can tell it's just about welded on... I've removed both silver clips, but the thing won't budge...

You've got to pull on it really hard to get it off. They use a heatsink compound that is like glue. I had trouble getting mine off to.
