Remove access panel

I am attempting to add RAM to my Lenovo Ideapad Y430 in preparation to upgrade to Windows 7. When I remove the 3 phillips head screws from the bottom access panel, it remains firmly attached by some sort of internal fixation. I can pry up the edges but don't want to break anything. Anyone have experience or suggestions? Thanks Raul
