So I think I might get some removable drive trays so that I can swap a HDD from my desktop to a computer that I am building for mp3/DVD in my car. What I am wondering is if in the desktop this drive can just be a place for me to dump my mp3's, and in the player in the car it can be a boot drive with win9x installed. Is this possible? I don't really have a clue how the boot sectors work but I am curious because in the desktop this drive will be assigned letter F or something and then in the car it should be C and have a boot sector or something. Any info would be appreciated, please dont be too harsh if I am being a dummy. Thanks

Yes. Any drive with the OS installed on it can be a boot drive.

I use mobile racks on two computers and shuffle 5 drives around them. All of them are bootable.
