Removable drive requires a reboot to show up in XP's explorer...any ideas?

Hi all,

I have this slick new removable "pen" USB drive that was recognized and installed without drivers in XP.

Yet when I insert it and it is recognized, it will not show up in explorer or "My computer" for me to copy to until I reboot. (device manager does show it was assigned drive "J.")

Any ideas as to how to fix or work around this?

Uh, I'm using 2k but sometimes updating in device manager will make it show up. Is device manager still used in XP?
 
Thanks Bglad, yes it is...tried that, but didn't notice a difference--still needed a reboot. Again, I might be missing something tho...
