Remotely monitoring systems

Hiyas,

Can anyone recommend a program that we might be able to use that can remotely monitor a couple thousand machines running Windows XP? Looking for uptime, memory/CPU usage, file system stats (free space, etc), and anything else.

I know I had seen some before but can't recall any of their names.

If they are free/open source, that'd be great. If not, we'll still look at them but then I have to do budgets and other things which will be messy. 🙂

Nagios is built for this. Enterprise systems such as IBM's Tivoli Monitoring work very well too.

Another possibility is the awesome sauce that is Spiceworks.
