Remote web access stuck in updating: WHS11

I posted this question in software, but after thinking about it, it's probably better in networking:

My server remote web access is constantly stuck on updating. When i try to access the server remotely, say from work or from my phone away from home, my homeserver.com address won't load. When I get home, I find that the server remote web access page in the dashboard is stuck on updating, and I have to reconfigure router settings etc. After reconfiguring, the status is Available, then I can log into homeserver.com. Any ideas or thoughts?

Last RollUp of WHS111 was in 2012.

Updates are still available until END of life.

As a first step I would switch Off the auto-update and transfer it to Never. then see what happened.

If it help leave it as is and make a note to manually check every few weeks.
