I am about to be supporting a bunch of windows PC and Mac's , does anyone know what the best options are for remote controlling the machines are?

To complicate things further I am running Ubuntu on my main machine so would love to be able to control everything from linux.

If that's not possible are there any good solutions for a mac?

LogMeIn works well for PCs, and it's used through a browser, so it works on GNU/Linux. Not sure about an OSX client, but I'm sure they have one.

logmein is a classic, if you need quick and easy remote access with another user then you can use crossloop. no account needed which is handy for one-off situations, and it sets up very quickly.

Teamviewer is a good choice for non-commercial use (it is free for personal use, but commercial use requires a license, which is rather expensive):

www.teamviewer.com

They provide clients for Windows, Mac, Linux, and mobile (both iPhone and Android).

Bomgar is AWESOME but is also pricey.

HelpdeskVNC is kinda... meh but gives you full admin control, plus it works if they reboot in SAFE MODE! Haven't seen anything else do that yet.

LogMeIn, Join.Me are okay but can be tricky with rights elevations unless you're using the paid version.

Log me in works great. There are clients for OS X and Windows and it just uses Java through a browser to connect so you can connect to either of those OS's through a Linux Distro.

I use logmein and teamviewer.. Logmein is great, if you use the paid version, you can even install clients on blackberry and do remote troubleshooting for BES connection issues.. I do like teamviewer better but cost is an issue
