We got 14 remote sites around the state where we are putting Domain Controllers. I've been doing research on implementing Global Catalog servers to these remote sites but remembered reading about Universal Group Caching on Domain Controllers in Sites, and Services under NTDS Settings.. We have at least a T1 pipe for each location so the GC remotely can connect back, but I kind of like the idea of using as less bandwidth as possible for replication.

Personally, I would use GC's whenever possible...and T1 or better is a good sign that it's possible. What else are you running across these network links that you are concerned about AD replication taking up too much bandwidth?
