Remote Dial-Up Printing Terminal

Any suggestions on a remote dial-up terminal that simple receives documents and prints them?

Situation: Main office needs to send work orders to manufacturing division, so that they use an application (say e-mail) to send it to the manuf. and on their end all the workers see is a printer that prints out the work orders.

Note: Wireless (no line of sight), and no other broadband technologies are available at both sites, except for satellite (which is a bit overkill for printing docs).

Thank you!

I'm not super clear here.

I'm *assuming* the following -

1. Main office whips up email
2. Main office sends it to remote location on dial up connection
3. Remote location receives the document....and this is where you need it printed right?

Is that correct?

If so, if the email client on the remote clients end is Outlook 2000 or better, you can set up a rule that will print documents with specific things in the subject or from specific senders, ect. Works good for automating things and should be a simple & cost effective way of automatically printing these documents.

And I was not super clear, sorry about that.

Site A = Main office.
Site B = Manuf. 2KM's away from eachother.

SiteA: Somehow sends data via a currently non-exisitent network to SiteB.

SiteB: Awaits a printed copy of a document which tells them what to put together for an order from the folks at SiteA, or at minimum, automatically prints out at SiteB, so they just walk over and pick up the peice of paper.

Hope this helps... thx!

So in other words, you're looking to find something to work in a similar method as a fax machine?

if you have a direct line between the two locations (t1, vpn, something similarly secure), you could just share the printer and print to it directly from the source machine.
