Remote Desktop

I just got a new computer and now sometimes when I remote desktop in it black screens on the host computer. I think it happens when I don't disconnect properly from one place or if I disconnect properly nad then connect from another location. I'm using a bootleg copy of XP that my friends r using and they have remote desktop with no problem. I'm using an Inspiron 4150. . .
