Remote Desktop vs TigthVNC

If I connect to a remote machine with the Remote Desktop it's look great.
If I connect with TightVNC the text is jaggy and not very good.

I've tried all the TightVNC settings, and it just seems to not be anywhere near as good.
Any ideas?

Why not just stick with RDP? Use a different port, like 443 if blocking is an issue.

The beauty of VNC is to shadow an active session. That is why people use it, not because it looks good (it doesn't).

Try UltraVNC with its special Video drivers.

However, as already mentioned above, VNC is not as smooth as RDT.
On the other end it is more flexible, and can be used with versions of Windows that do not support RDT.

Teamviewer is actually based on UltraVNC, an it is much better than LogMeIN.

On the Plus side. No need to deal with opening ports at setup.

No need to set DNS service to maintain the external IP address.

Both can be a problem when One needs to support someone that do not know how to deal with ports and Extrenal IP.

Negative side. Not as flexible as UltraVNC per-se.

Use a 3rd party mitigating server instead of direct connection.

Teamviewer, On the plus side:

-Easy to use for those pesky end user's, who always seem to fall victim to PEBKAC
-SSL encrypted
-Multifuntional App
-Offer a "QuickSupport" version, for those users who don't want to install...and can't seem to find the "Run Once" option...lol

Based on suggestions in this thread, I installed the DFMirage driver for TightVNC and it looks very good.

RDP 7.1 -> GDI/DIRECTWRITE -> RDP 7.1

nothing come close especially as the bandwidth goes up to RDP. nothing. not even near.

with the new REMOTEFX it will pummel VNC to death 1000x.

I found a vnc product that wasn't encrypted!?! wtf lame.
