Remote Desktop reboot problem

When I connect to my home computer from work using remote desktop, I can't reboot. I can go into the windows security and select shutdown->restart, but it just goes back to the desktop. It won't restart.. Does anyone know why and how I can restart it?
 
Any tuts on Remote Desktop? please email me if you have one that an end user like me can easily follow.
I am sure if someone can share the tut will probably explain about this thread's question too.
