Remote desktop in w2k3: How to make remote sesions same as normal login session?

I have windows server 2003 on my workstation. I have dozens of windows of different programs open all the time for my work. When I go home I lock the computer. When I remote in from home, it brings me to a clean desktop, and none of my running programs show up on the task bar, and the windows aren't visible. I can see the processes in task manager though.

When I was running XP on this machine, I could lock the computer, go home, remote in from home and all the windows I had open would show up in my remote desktop session.

Is there a setting I can switch to make it behave like it did when I had XP installed?

Sounds like you want to connect to the console session. Try mstc /v:servername /console

DING DING DING...we have a winner.

If you connect like normal, you can also open up the terminal services manager on the server and switch over to the console session.
