i am having a lot of trouble setting remote desktop on our xp home edition pcs i have no clue how do do this

Are they all home? If you have SP2, make sure the ports are open in the firewall...I don't think you can go from home to pro (or at least it's not workin for me right now...)

You can use XP home to log onto others Remote Desktop and it cannot be logged on. In other words, Xp Home can act as a client but not as a host for Remote Desktop.

That's the problem. If you want remote desktop, you will need to upgrade to the Pro edition. Otherwise, I'd suggest using VNC. I personally use UltraVNC and love it.
