Remote Desktop from PC to a Mac

What's the easiest way to remote connect from a Windows PC running Windows 7 to a Mac running Mountain Lion? Is there a short-&-sweet instruction guide that you know of, or a method that you prefer? When I Google it, I see tons of ways to connect a Mac to Windows, but I'm looking for the opposite.
 
OS X has VNC built into it, you'll want to go into the System Prefences and then 'Sharing', and enable VNC under 'Screen Sharing'.

Then, using a VNC client in Windows (I don't know of any off the top of my head, sorry), connect to OS X.

Or, use LogMeIn.

Or, use TeamViewer.
 
Yup, OSX has a VNC server built into it. Last time I tried it (TightVNC on Windows 7 to the built-in VNC on Mountain Lion) it was pretty dang slow, but give it a shot, it's free!

If the machine's not on your LAN & you don't have VNC, you might try LogMeIn free. Not the best graphical experience, but it's handy to access through a webpage from anywhere.
 
Thanks, I'll look into the above and choose one. I use LogMeIn for other PC's, didn't even think to add the Mac.
 
If you already use LMI then it seems like a no brainer.

Practically all solutions are VNC based, so quite a bit crappier than RDP unfortunately, as with most OS X things IRL.

Not sure about GotoMyPC - which since it's by Citrix, could be RDP based. Never used'em so dunno. There are other RDP solutions available but they're comparatively big bucks.
 
You can connect Windows and Mac OS X by following below steps:-

  • click on Apple icon and select the 'system prefrence' option and the on sharing in wireless and internet option.
  • Now click on the 'Screen Sharing' checkbox, note down the IP address and on the same dialogue 'click computer setting'.
  • Now click theVNC viewer checkbox and enter the password.
  • Download/Install 'Tight VNC' on you PC and check 'Tight VNC Viewer'.
  • Run 'Tight VNC' and enter the IP address of your Mac and connect it.
Now, you accessed Mac from PC.
