I was looking around at Microsoft's site and found this Its the download for the client version of remote desktop which works with almost all versions of windows. This prog could be extremly usefull to help out a friend, colleague, or whoever needs it! This is client side only so they could not connect to you only send requests. This is also on the XP cd. Its a great alternative to try out before going 3rd party!
 
I think you have it backward. You connect to the server, not the client. The server comes installed on windows server/xp pro and the client to connect to those comps is there on MS's site.

Hmm. Your right. Not as usefull but still interesting.

Why not? If the friend or colleague is running XP, RDP is built in. The RDP client is also free, has no impact on the system when not in use and is more secure than VNC.
